Swing Dancing on Governors Island

East River Ferry Time
After waiting a good hour in the hot sun for the ferry to arrive in Greenpoint, we hopped aboard with the crowds to make our way to Governors Island. We had heard that there was going to be Jazz in the park. We weren't prepared for the roaring 20's dress up party we walked into. I felt terribly under dressed and wished I could have spent the $200 or odd dollars to buy a new outfit on site from one of the beautiful pop up shops.

The lawn party was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and I will be better prepared in proper attire next time!

In the midst of glorious 1920's outfits and swing dancing, I see this man looking over the dance floor with a bored expression on his face. He stuck out like a sore thumb, seeming as though he had gotten lost. I had to ask to take his picture with his shirt that says,
"I got out of bed for this?"
