LA for the weekend

We both missed our flights to LA at 7pm on Friday. Peter and I were at different terminals at JFK and had to call each other to say that we were both denied boarding the plane...running in 15 mins before the plane takes off just doesn't cut it I guess.

Peter took a car over to my terminal and we got booked on the 9pm.  

We were really in need of a drink at this point but weren't willing to pay the outrageous amount.

So we settled for playing X and O's on these little computers. I have realized that there comes an age when no one can win the game, it's just too easy!

We didn't know it at the time, but we would soon sit on the runway for another 2 hours waiting for our plane to take off...and then ask for a free wine and actually get two!

Arrived in LA at 3am, picked up the car, took a nap, went for a swim, then jumped in the rental for a morning adventure in Santa Monica. 

I liked LA but I can understand why people wouldn't if they only visited the tourist spots.

I thought the tourist destinations were the worst.

Lucky for us, Peter knew some very cool LA locals to tell us where to go and what to see and where to eat.

I was completely shocked by how nice everyone was. 

I often thought maybe they were being sarcastic or maybe trying to distract me with their kindness and then rob me. This just wasn't the case though.

I know I've only been living in New York since September, but it was a bit sad how shocked I was to see some smiles from people and feel a very relaxed energy.

 LA, are you putting something in the water? If so, can you put it in the pipes in New York? 

Eating lunch in Venice at the French Kitchen with Mr Handsome

You know when you go into a beautiful store and you think to yourself, "I could live here!"

Well, it turned out that inside this adorable shop, lived an adorable couple who lived in one of the show rooms upstairs. I walked straight into their bedroom while they were eating lunch and was really confused. They said that not only did they own the store, they also lived in it. 

Everything in their bedroom was for sale.

With good reason, we were in Manhattan by 9am Saturday morning and not a person was to be seen. I had never actually been in Manhattan so early on a weekend before. 

While waiting for the downtown train, we decided to have a little themed photo session.

Snow Day!

This was by far the prettiest walk to work to date.

I have never seen so much snow covering a city before.
