J Crew Bracelet 

Attending the J Crew men's and women's private shopping event in the upper-something-side was delightful. Not only did I get a complimentary bracelet, but there was also champagne being passed around on the ladies side. I favoured the drinks across the street in the men's, spiced bourbon with cider. 

 J Crew requested that Corduroy Magazine be sold in their ladies stores in Manhattan.

They sold out within the first week :)

Soup in a dumpling

After the $12 hair cut came the eating of steamed dumplings filled with soup!

If you're living in NYC and need a hair cut, go to Yi Fi hair salon in Chinatown and pay a mere $12 for a wash, cut, blow-dry and sweet service.

Stepping inside the shop also feels like a short trip to Asia, with hardly any English spoken and amazing Chinese tunes blasting through the portable stereo. It's exactly what I need when i'm lonesome for the far East and need to escape nyc for an hour.  

This is my second time seeing Jenny-the-hairdresser and i absolutely adore her! Both times I've left a $20, smiled and had something delicious to eat.

Call it cheap, but there's something so satisfying about saving this much money!

American Thanksgiving

American Thanksgiving

It was my very first time experiencing Thanksgiving in America and let me tell you, they take it so seriously. The whole city shuts down, the people empty out and the trains obviously cause inconvenience to those trying to get to turkey dinners.

This is the time of year - too close to Christmas dinner for my liking - that you absolutely need to plan your dinner outfit accordingly.

Wearing something stretchy and nothing too tight or 'body revealing' is always a great idea.

It was a very long 4 day weekend full of food, wine and much laughter :)

I already got incredibly lucky receiving a Frankie Magazine in my mail box this month and now a yummy baking book published by Frankie Magazine has arrived!

I had wanted this during my time in Australia and decided not to buy it because I couldn't lug it to India with me. Thanks to the lovely Miss Todd, I've been baking up a storm.

Peter and I made these Nanna biscuits and my 'hand out' birthday cupcakes out of the recipe for the peppermint chocolate cake.

It was a lovely way to spend 5:45-7:45pm on a Saturday in Manhattan.

During this time, the museum fee is by donation. The line up was far longer than expected for such frigid weather but did move quickly and beats paying $15.

I thought the museum was just beautiful and adored walking up and down it's winding walk way.

You really don't even have to like the art to love this place:)
